  • Chelmsford School Sport Partnership High Five Netball Final

    Wed 01 May 2019

On Tuesday 30th April, a team of eight Year 5 & 6 children travelled to Great Baddow High School to take part in the High Five Netball Final, having qualified for this event earlier in the month.

We were placed in a pool with six other schools and played against each team in the pool. The results are as follows:

Tyrrells v Barnes Farm - lost 2-1 (scorer - Robyn)

Tyrrells v St Peters - lost 4-2 (scorers Tobi & Yasmin)

    Tyrrells v Perryfields A - lost 9-0

Tyrrells v Beehive Lane - drew 1-1 (scorer Samer)

Tyrrells v Our Lady Immaculate - lost 4-2 (scorers Tobi & Robyn)

Tyrrells v Great Leighs - lost 2-1 (scorer Yasmin)

We finished 7th in our pool and then played a 'play off' match against Boreham, who finished in the same position in the other pool. We won this match 1-0, thanks to another great goal from Robyn. This result placed us in 13th position of all of the schools in Chelmsford.

Well done to the team: Yasmin B, Robyn D, Ellie G, Tobi P, Caitlin S, Samer S, Kristie W and Jed Y. Thank you to all of the parents who helped by transporting children to the venue and for their support during the matches. Thank you also to Mrs Reeve for helping organise the team.

  • A brilliant gift...

    Wed 24 Apr 2019

We have recently taken delivery of a mobile library to be used by the Key Stage 2 children at lunchtimes. This wonderful piece of wheeled equipment was donated to the school by the current Year 6 children and their families. There's a wonderful array of books for the children to choose from and we know that they will enjoy reading these for many years to come.

Many thanks to Year 6 for such a kind and thoughtful donation, it is very much appreciated.

  • Change for Life Festival

    Wed 03 Apr 2019

On Tuesday 2nd April, 10 children attended the Change for Life Festival at Chelmsford College. Here they were given the opportunity to try a wide range of different activities, such as trampolining, cricket, Boccia and archery. They also took part in a 'detective game' and followed clues to solve a mystery.

All of the children that took part were impeccably behaved and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Many thanks to Mrs Anderson and Mrs Parr for taking the group and thank you also to the parents who came to watch and support the children.

  • Mayor of Chelmsford Visit

    Wed 27 Mar 2019

On Monday 18th March the Mayor of Chelmsford came to visit the school. She led a whole school assembly, telling us all about her role, the way she was chosen to be Mayor and her special chains and clothing. The children were able to ask her questions - and they certainly had some interesting things that they wanted to ask!

She then met with the School Council and spoke to them about their job in school.

Thank you very much Madame Mayor for visiting us - we really enjoyed meeting you.
