PE Challenge

How are you getting on with training like a jedi?

The full workout is shown at the beginning, the warm up begins about 4 minutes in and then from 6 minutes the individual moves are shown for you to have a go with. Perseverance will be needed, but who said being a Jedi would be easy?

J K Rowling's new book

J.K. Rowling released a new book at the beginning of half term. It is called ‘The Ickabog’.

She would like children to illustrate the book for her. follow the link below to The Ickabog website for more details.

One or two chapters of the book are uploaded daily until July 10th. All the previous chapters are available too - so you can start reading from the beginning.

Blue Peter - Six Badges of Summer

Yellow Week - Music

Did you complete your Red Week badge last week? Did you try a new physical activity?

This week is Yellow Week - linked to music

To earn your Yellow Badge, you need to have a home music festival. You could dress up as a rock star, create a banner for your festival, create a playlist of your favourite lock down music or talk to relatives about their favourite music.

Follow the link to have a look on the website for tips on how you can take part. Using the application link, you will find some inspiration from a video clip and interactive Bring The Noise feature.

If you haven't already, you can download a wall chart  to keep track of your Six Badges of Summer progress.  Let us know what you're doing by uploading your pictures and videos of your creations via Seesaw.

Remember to ask an adult at home to help you apply for your badge once you have met the Yellow Week Challenge.

Daily tasks

  • You should continue with your daily reading (20 minutes per day)
  • Spend some time on Times Table Rock Stars
  • If you use Lexia in school, please continue to use this at home.
  • Make sure to complete some physical activity, eg Joe Wicks, yoga or activity of your choice.
  • Listen to David Walliams reading "Awful Auntie". Catch up of chapters previously read can be found on the weblink below too.
  • Complete 20 minutes per day on Dance Mat typing. Really focus on using the correct fingers on the correct keys. This is an invaluable skill and will help improve your speed and accuracy of typing.
  • Continue to volunteer to help with at least one task around the house, eg washing up, making your bed, making a drink for your household.

Seesaw

Well done to everyone who has logged on to Seesaw and uploaded some of their pieces of work. It has been great to see so many of your home learning tasks. Remember, any form of learning that you have been doing can be shared, it does not just have to be the tasks set on the class page.

If you haven't managed to log on yet, please do so. We MUST see a minimum of two posts each week, please.  If you are having trouble logging in or have lost your log in details (sent via email to parents) please let your class teacher know so we can contact the office and have these resent.
