  • Year 4 Superstars Event

    Tue 20 Feb 2018

On Tuesday 20th February, the Year 4 children from Tyrrells went to the Superstars event at Melbourne Athletics and Sports Centre, organised by the Chelmsford School Sport Partnership.

They competed against other local schools in running, jumping, throwing and relay events. All of the children involved enjoyed the afternoon of sport and activity, and the staff who accompanied them were impressed by both their behaviour and their willing attitude to try their best at all of the tasks. Well done to all for taking part so superbly.

Many thanks to Miss Barns for helping to organise the event and thanks also to the staff and parents who accompanied the children and made the trip such a success.

Apologies for the blurry pictures, the children were just moving SO FAST!

  • Year 5/6 Netball Match

    Tue 20 Feb 2018 C Bradbrook

On Monday 19th February, a team of eight Year 5 & 6 Tyrrells children played in a netball match against Baddow Hall Juniors. This was our first match this school year, and the first home match that we've played for some time.

Despite the drizzly weather, and the fact that we've had a half term break since our last opportunity to practice together, the team played very well. They quickly took on board advice, showing great formation on centre passes and finding good spaces in the semi circle.

The match ended with a 5-4 win to Tyrrells. The teaching staff supporting the children agreed on what a delightful match it had been, with both teams showing great sportsmanship and super game play.

Many thanks to Shayna for umpiring the match for us, especially after having done 3 mock GCSE exams at school during the day, and thank you also to the parents who came to support us.

Well done to the Tyrrells Team: Albie B, Yasmin B, Noah D, Robyn D, Rebecca F, Ruby M, Macey M and Tobi P.
