Aspire, Care, Learn for Life

RE

Listen closely to the description of the Hindu nature Gods read to you by an adult.

Indra (the sky god – associated with thunder, lightning and rain; – seated on a white elephant)

Agni (the fire god – riding on a ram)

Surya (the sun god – riding a chariot across the sky)

Vayu (the wind god – riding on a gazelle – symbolising swiftness)

Explain that in ancient India, the people thought that the forces of nature were so powerful that they must be Gods. These Gods could be terrifying and destructive (e.g. thunder, lightning, fire) or kind and life-giving (e.g. sun, moon, water).

Colour a Hindu nature God and write a sentence about what you have learnt about them.
