Remind children of previous session. Ask them if they can remember the names of the trees they have looked at on their tree walk last week. Discuss the parts of a tree, (start with oak tree). Build on the knowledge that the children already have and use their Leaf Key from last week to refer to similarities and differences. Are these features common to all trees? 

 

Children to complete the diagram of the tree below and draw their leaf species.
