The Tyrrells School

Aspire, Care, Learn for Life

Netball Tournament

Two Year 5/6 netball teams played in a tournament alongside 20 other teams on Monday 13th March 2017. This was the first chance that either team had to play in a competitive match with another school and the children were very keen to make a good impression.

The Tyrrells 'A' Team results:

v Great Waltham - lost 2-3

v Boreham 'A' - won 9-0

v Cathedral - won 6-0

v St Johns 'A' - lost 3-4

v Great Leighs 'B' - won 8-0

Some impressive goal scoring from all team members!

The Tyrrells 'B' Team results:

v St Johns B - lost 0-1

v Moulsham Junior - won 5-0

v Danbury Park - lost 1-2

v Great Leighs 'A' - won 5-0

A great debut for many of these young players!

Unfortunately, neither team managed to win their pool, despite some excellent score lines. We've heard today that both Tyrrells 'A' and Tyrrells 'B' managed to come third in their group with their final scores. A huge congratulations to both teams who showed fantastic team spirit and determination, supporting each other really well. All of their skills improved during the tournament and this experience helped them understand how to combine really well as a team

Many thanks to the parents who transported children to this event and for supporting them with lots of encouragement during the tournament. Thanks also to Mrs Reeve who gives up her time every week to help with the coaching at Netball Club.

Well done Tyrrells, we're very proud of you all.

Tyrrells 'A' - Luke A, Bobby B, Albie B, Ella B, Leila S, Claudia W and Samantha W.

Tyrrells 'B' - Robert B, Eleanor D, Chloe E, Rebecca F, Lovena H, Isaac I and Joseph O.
