The Tyrrells School

Aspire, Care, Learn for Life

Tyrrells are the Netball County Champions!

On Thursday 30th June, a team of seven Year 6 children travelled to Basildon Sporting Village to take part in the Essex Summer School Games. They had previously competed in heats and the Chelmsford area finals to earn their place in this competition and they were all keen to do their very best.

The team played 10 matches against other regional winners. The high standards of the netball displayed by our magnificent team were frequently commented upon, not just by the coaches, staff and family members with them but by other teams, teachers and spectators who were quite in awe of the way they worked as a unit and the skill that they showed.

The results:

v Barons Court - won 12-0

v St Marys - won 10-0

v Temple Sutton - won 9-0

v Kelvedon St Marys - won 10-2

v Whitebridge - won 14-0

v Henham & Ugley - won 12-1

v Deneholm - won 7-0

v OLOR - won 11-2

v St Peters - won 13-1

v Lee Chapel - won 4-1

Because of these amazing scores - Tyrrells WON the Essex Summer School Games High 5 Netball Competition 2016, taking home a super winners trophy and a Gold Medal each - and a huge smile on our faces!

Huge thanks to Kerry Ketley and Sam Bluck for all of the time and dedication that they have put into the coaching of the team. It is so much appreciated and you have both been amazing.

And a massive well done to our FABULOUS team - Katie B, Keira C, Nathan H, Abi K, Brooke T, Edie W and Hannah W. We are super proud of you all for all of the effort and energy that you put into the competition. You were completely wonderful!
