P.E Days

PE Days

Our Outdoor PE session is on a Friday. Please ensure that your child comes into school in their outdoor PE kit, including a blue or black tracksuit if cold. Your child can also bring gloves and a hat if the weather is cold.

Our Swimming Lessons are on a Monday (4G) and a Tuesday (4P). As lessons in the outdoor pool can sometimes leave children feeling a little chilly, please make sure that your child brings a jumper to school on the day that they have swimming. Swimming kit should include a hat (marked clearly with their name on the outside), a swimsuit (one piece) or swimming trunks (not long shorts), a towel and flip flops or other plastic shoes used for walking backwards and forwards to the pool when feet are wet. Children may also like to bring goggles if they are used to using them for swimming.

Events and Highlights

Roman Army Formations

We have been learning all about the Romans this half term! In our lesson this week we investigated the Roman Army: what it was like, who was part of it and the different formations they had when battling. We re-enacted these ourselves on the playground with our own shields.

Colchester Castle

Year 4 had a brilliant time at Colchester Castle. We spent time looking around the exciting museum exhibits, had a wonderful story tour in the foundations of the castle and even got to build their own Roman Villa. On top of this, the children also got some virtual, hand-on experience of chariot racing! Overall, the children had a fantastic time learning about the Romans in Colchester and even more about Boudica's revolt and the impact she had on Colchester.
