School Uniform
Below you will find a full uniform list and pictures of some of the items available for The Tyrrells School. Our branded uniform supplier is One Stop Schoolgear, a link to the ordering section of their website can be found below
We've included pictures of the school jumpers to help you match the colours.
Please make sure that everything is labelled clearly with your child's name.
- Grey trousers or shorts
- Grey skirt or pinafore dress
- Light blue blouse/shirt or polo shirt
- Royal blue jumper/sweatshirt or cardigan (Tyrrells branded or plain)
- Black or grey socks/tights
Optional Summer Uniform
- Summer blue/white dress
- White socks
Footwear
Sensible black shoes or plain black trainers (no canvas shoes) should be worn at all times. Preferable these shoes will be Velcro until the child is able to tie their laces independently.
No open toed shoes or sandals should be worn for safety reasons. If children wear trainers these should be completely plain black with no coloured logos or laces. During cold weather black ankle boots may be worn, but they must be plain.
P.E. Kit
- Navy blue or black shorts
- Light blue T-shirt (plain or Tyrrells branded)
- Navy blue tracksuit (Particularly important in winter)
- Trainers (for outdoor PE)
- Swimming cap
- Water-proof bag
- Swimwear (e.g. one-piece swimsuit, trunks - no board shorts)
- Towel
- A pair of slip-on rubber or plastic shoes (flip flops or Croc type shoes)
The school follows Health and Safety Guidance issued by Essex Local Authority.
Please note that for Health and Safety reasons, no jewellery, except stud earrings and a watch, should be worn at school. If studs and/or a watch are worn, these must be removed before the children can take part in PE/Games sessions. Earrings must be removed at home on the days children have PE. This means that if pupils cannot take their earrings out, they will have to sit out of PE until they can remove their earrings. Taped earrings and silicone earrings are prohibited.
The school does not take responsibility for any lost jewellery or watches. We recognise that jewellery may be worn as an important expression of faith and would expect that parents and carers inform the leadership team if this is the case.
Children’s hair must be worn in an appropriate way with no extreme styling or designs, for example mohicans and brightly coloured hair dye. Long hair must be tied back out of the eyes for safety reasons.
Nail varnish and make up are not permitted to be worn at school.
Any head coverings such as hijabs, turbans or head scarves should be blue, black, white or grey in colour to tie in with the school uniform colours where possible. This is also something that can be discussed with parents and carers if a specific colour is important for religious reasons.
