Purpose of study

A high quality Music curriculum  to engage and inspire children to develop a love of music, increasing their self-confidence, creativity, and a sense of achievement. Music is a universal language that helps young people to think differently, improving cognition, literacy, and numeracy. It involves learning to perform, compose, and listen to a variety of music styles. 

Aims

• The National Curriculum for music aims to ensure all children perform, listen to, review, and evaluate music across various historical periods, genres, and styles. 
• Key goals include singing, creating, composing, and learning musical instruments to develop musical fluency and understanding of inter-related dimensions like pitch and tempo.
