Aspire, Care, Learn for Life
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
On Monday 18th March the Mayor of Chelmsford came to visit the school. She led a whole school assembly, telling us all about her role, the way she was chosen to be Mayor and her special chains and clothing. The children were able to ask her questions - and they certainly had some interesting things that they wanted to ask!
She then met with the School Council and spoke to them about their job in school.
Thank you very much Madame Mayor for visiting us - we really enjoyed meeting you.
On Tuesday 26th March, a team of ten Year 6 boys played in a League match against Bishops School. It was a tough match which quickly escalated from 2-1 to 5-1, a heavy loss for Tyrrells.
Well done to the team: Jamie, Bobby, Alfie, Owen, Tobi, Nathan, Jacob, Ben, AJ and Zachary.
Thank you to Mrs Anderson for organising the match and also to Mr Waring and Mr Wareham for their help.
On Monday 25th March, a team of eight Year 5 and 6 children travelled to Great Baddow High School to take part in a High Five Netball Tournament. We played in a pool with four other schools and the results are as follows:
Tyrrells v Purleigh - won, 1-0
Tyrrells v Barnes Farm Juniors B - won 3-0
Tyrrells v St Johns A - won 2-1
Tyrrells v Perryfields B - lost 3-0
These results placed us second in our pool and we go through to the next round of the competition which will take place in April.
Many thanks to the parents who transported the children to the event and supported them during the matches.
Well done to the team: Yasmin B, Robyn D, Ellie G, Tobi P, Caitlin S, Samer S, Kristie W and Jed Y.
Today, two of our Year 6 pupils collected a fantastic award on behalf of the whole school. It was given by Essex Healthy Schools to recognise the hard work and impressive outcomes that The Tyrrells Primary School has achieved to improve the health and well-being of our students. We are very proud to have achieved Enhanced Healthy Schools Status.
Many thanks to all of the staff and children who have been involved in the organisation of events and the collection of data and evidence for this award. Great job everyone!
