Today we are going to identify and name a variety of common animals that are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
Discuss how a cow’s diet is different from our own. What do they eat? What don’t they eat that humans eat? Explain that cows are herbivores and that means that they only eat plants.
Consider a lion… what does he like to eat? Would he eat grass? In what ways is his diet similar to / different to a human diet?
Work through the presentation below which will help you to understand about carnivores, omnivores and herbivores.
On the worksheet below, the children draw a picture of an omnivore, herbivore and carnivore. They write how they know it is an omnivore/herbivore/carnivore.
