J.K. Rowling released a new book today, called ‘The Ickabog’ and she’d like children (between 7 and 12 years old) to illustrate the book for her. Two chapters have been published online today and the rest will follow daily until July 10th. Details of how to enter your illustrations are also on this website. We hope that you enjoy reading the book, and that some of you get busy drawing and enter the competition. Good luck!

After all the excitement of Key Stage 2 Sports Day, a team of children rushed over to Newlands Spring School to play in a League netball match. Following the heavy defeat from the previous day, the children were keen to score some goals and play some great netball.
The team played superbly well together, and it was a real end to end match. Both teams were delighted to come away with a 5-5 draw and to see the children play some fabulous netball and enjoy themselves in the process.
Many thanks to the parents who helped with transport to the event and came to support the team.
Team: Yasmin B, Robyn D, Harry D, Ellie G, Tobi P, Caitlin S, Samer S and Kristie W.
On Monday 1st July, a team of Tyrrells children from Year 5 and 6 walked round to Perryfields School to play a League netball match. With Perryfields already clearly the League winners, we knew it was going to be a tough match. The children played well, and persevered with a great spirit throughout the game, despite the goals flying in at the opposition's end. The match ended 19-0 to Perryfields, and we were disappointed to not score just one goal as a consolation. Myself and the parents who came to watch were extremely proud of the children who did not give up and showed real resilience against very tough opposition.
Team: Yasmin B, Robyn D, Harry D, Ellie G, Caitlin S, Samer S, Kristie W and Jed Y
On Friday 14th June, a team of Year 5 and 6 children travelled to Kings Road School to play a League netball match. This was our first match since the tournament in April and the children were keen to do well.
With lovely goals from Robyn, Tobi and Yasmin, the team managed to win the match 6-4.
We look forward to our next game (this week) against Perryfields Juniors. Good luck team!
Y5/6 Team: Yasmin, Emilie, Robyn, Ellie, Caitlin, Samer, Tobi and Jed.
On Wednesday 5th June, all of the Year 2 children travelled to Melbourne Sports and Athletic Centre for the Mini Olympics Competition. They took part in throwing events, speed stacking, balance bike races, cheerleading, jumping races and horse races. The children all had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed participating in all of the events.
Tyrrells managed to secure 1st and 3rd place in the boys competition and 2nd place in the girls competition. A young lady in 2K won the schools art competition and her picture was then used on the certificates for the event throughout the week. Tyrrells came 2nd overall on the day.
Many thanks to all of the staff who accompanied the children to the event and also to the parents who came along to support them.
