English - Persuasive letters
Our English lesson today is based on word meaning when reading. The text used today is an advert and will help you identify persuasive features.How many persuasive features can you identify from your previous persuasive unit on Wateraid?
Follow the instructions from the video- remembering to pause and complete the activities when asked to. Use the 'next activity' or green dots at the bottom of the page to navigate through.

Spelling - ably suffix.
In your English lesson today, Mrs Barr suggested creating a word-search using your spelling words. Remember to write the list of 10 words which need to be found within your word-search. If you feel like a trickier challenge, try creating a crossword with a clue for each word.
Today you will be drawing shapes that have been translated. To do this, we will be looking at coordinates. When we have numbers presented to us like this: (1,4), this means we are able to plot where something is on a grid. The first number refers to our x axis. This is the line that runs across our page. Then second numbers refers to our y axis. This is the number that runs down/up our page. So to find (1,4) I need to move one across from zero and then 4 spaces up.
1. Have a go at the activity on the first few slides. You need to plot the coordinates for the different fruits so that you can blend the smoothie.
2. Look at Slide 8 onwards. Not only do we have coordinates for where our shape is on a grid, we can also know how many steps the shape moves up/down and left/right.
3. Choose your level of challenge from the worksheet. Each page has different shapes that you will need to translate to the new coordinates. Make sure you are counting your steps carefully.
4. Mark your answers.
5. Choose your Mastery challenge to complete.
We are now moving away from materials and towards Animals including Humans. Today's lesson and Thursday's lesson are the same, it is just broken into two parts. We will be studying different animals' life cycles.
Read through the Powerpoint and watch the video clips for the Ant and the Frog. You will be completing your own life cycle sheet for these animals.
