Aspire, Care, Learn for Life
Foundation - Art @10am
It's time to draw-a-long with Rob! The draw-a-long is live at 10am, however the video will be added to the website if you would prefer to draw at a different time.
Pop a photo of your completed picture on Seesaw so we can see your great drawings! Remember that once you have the outline of your drawing, you can adapt it to develop your own personal style.
English - Instructions.
Today we are beginning a new unit based on instructions. During the unit you will be writing a set of instructions on how to capture a dragon. Our focus today is the language used for instructions.
After the last three units, you are all familiar with the set up of the Oak National Academy. Follow the instructions from the video- remembering to pause and complete the activities when asked to. Use the 'next activity' or green dots at the bottom of the page to navigate through.
As it is the start of a new unit, begin a new magpie page for instructions. Remember to include words of the day, elements of the success criteria and exciting ideas you have magpied.
If you have any questions or technical issues, send us a message wither via email or on seesaw.
Spellings - ibly suffix.
This week, we are going to continue to use the spellings featured in our English lesson . Add two further spellings from the Year 5/6 or Year 3/4 spelling lists to create a list of 10 spellings.
Can you record each of these words in a sentence or all of them in a short paragraph to demonstrate your understanding of their meaning?
Maths
Today you will be looking at missing angles from the a circle. If we know that there are 180* in a line, how many degrees must there be in a circle?
Read and complete the Powerpoint questions.
1. What type of angle is being shown? We will do more work on this later on in the week.
2. Which two angles would you need to add together to make 360*?
3. How many different ways can you break down 360* into smaller, equal parts? Use what you learnt yesterday to help you.
4. Choose between the 1 star, 2 star and three star challenge.
For the 1 star, subtract the known angle away from 360 to find the missing angle.
For the 2 star, add up what you know and subtract this from 360.
For the 3 star, add up what you know and subtract this from 360.
5. Have a look at the Next Step question.
Foundation - World Ocean Day
As you will recall, yesterday was World Oceans Day. We thought it would be useful to continue with this theme to carry out another couple of activities.
Activity 1
There is chance for you to complete your work from yesterday researching ONE of the five oceans.
Activity 2
Use the "Design a poster" activity sheet to create a poster informing people of the damage that is being done to our oceans and creatures. You may want to link some of your ideas and facts from your plastic pollution research in English. Make sure to include a positive section about what changes people can make to help our oceans.
Activity 3
Have a go at completing the word search below.
Activity 4
Go back to yesterday's activities and choose one you haven't completed.
