News/Updates

Welcome back to TCC in 2022!

This half-term sees a few changes to the TCC routine. Owing to another short-term professional commitment, there will be no coaching this half-term. However, there will be a weekly intra-club tournament (presided over by Miss O'Hanlon) and the chess team will continue to have opportunities to compete in various upcoming matches (see Tournaments below). After half-term, coaching will resume as usual. The next TCC meeting is on Monday 24th January @4.00 p.m. All the necessary links are on the Lichess News page and have also been emailed to all members.

Puzzles

Puzzles are a fantastic way for learning to spot patterns and common situations and learn the appropriate moves/ways to attack or defend. It is often recommended by the top Grandmasters as one of the most important and powerful learning tools.

Therefore, every fortnight, I will be checking the Puzzle leader board for Puzzles completed on Lichess. The top three will receive house point rewards:

1st = 15;                 2nd = 10;                3rd = 5

Many thanks for your ongoing support

Mr Viner
